We use catheter-based technologies to diagnose, treat heart disease and repair clogged arteries. Treatments may include balloon angioplasty, stenting and rotational atherectomy and valvuloplasty.
Personalized Medicine
We believe in personalized medicine because no two people are alike. Heart Sciences Center is the first cardiology practice in Arizona and one of the first institutions nationwide to offer a new innovative test to patients with suspected obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). We also offer genetic testing to diagnose CAD and evaluate the response to Aspirin, Plavix and Coumadin and determine abnormal Lipid, so that we can tailor the patient's therapy appropriately. Identifying cardiovascular disease in the early stages enables clinicians to provide the best outcome with early intervention.
Cardiovascular Research
Heart Sciences Center is leading the research community in finding ways to restore function to the heart muscle after a major cardiac event. We are currently enrolling in Phase I,II and III research studies using adult stem cells, angiogenesis (growing new blood vessels) and genomics in patients with Heart Failure, Chronic Chest Pain, Coronary Artery Disease and Heart Attacks. Between 20% and 30% of the nation’s adults (some 58 million people) are obese and thus have a higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes. Only 27% of women and 19% of men report eating the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
